Don’t Be Slow

is currently being developed in Unity Engine and is scheduled to be released spring 2022.

In Don’t Be Slow, you avoid obstacles, use powerups, and navigate a procedurally generated level to avoid getting eaten by a bear.

I’m the lead programmer and designer for this project, and I’m working with my teammate Hank Farr who handles the artwork and helps with gameplay design choices.


Because I’m the author of almost all code in this project, I’m thankful to have worked through several different programming problems in designing and implementing the different features in this game. Some of the most challenging features included a tile-based procedural level generation system, multiple animation state machines, and a system for player abilities and actions.

This is a video my team and I put together for the launch of our Kickstarter. It goes into detail about the features we’ve developed so far, and also some fun mechanics we plan to add in the future.
